Whole 30 Round Up: 30 Whole 30 Dinner Ideas + Whole30 Approved Hawaiian Burgers

GREAT NEWS! The Kitchen Revival is going Paleo! 

2 weeks ago I decided to do the Whole30 Challenge. To be honest, I never thought that I could ever talk myself into this because I LOVE bread and sugary treats. But with the way my immune system and joints have been treating me lately, I decided to give it a try. 

The good news is so far I am liking it, and after I complete the Whole30 Challenge I have decided that I will be giving up sugar for an entire year. Why you ask? Well, because my sugar addiction has gotten out of control and I feel that my body does better when I don’t consume sugar. I will also be adapting to a more Paleo approach to my diet from now on. That means that most recipes from now on will not only be Gluten Free & Dairy Free, but also will mostly be Paleo & Whole30 Friendly.

During my Whole30 Challenge, I will be giving updates on my progress as well as helpful resources and tools that you can use to try out the Whole30 for yourself.

2 Week Whole30 Challenge Update

It’s been 2 weeks since I started the Whole30 Challenge, so how am I doing? I would say pretty good. I thought the hardest part would be to give up bread, but I don’t even miss it. The hardest part for me so far is giving up sugar. I tend to consume sugar when I am stressed/nervous or if I am hungry for something sweet. My weakness has always been the Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Cups. I could sit there and eat consume an entire bag if I allowed myself too. But no more! I will no longer be a slave to sugar. This won’t be easy, but it will be well worth it!

Even though it has only been 2 weeks, I am already starting to feel more energetic than I ever was before.

About My New Favorite Burger Recipe

I love burgers, and my husband loves to eat any burger that I create! When I first decided to commit to the Whole30 Challenge, I started thinking how am I going to enjoy a tasty burger without the bun? That wouldn’t be fun! But there is a thing called Lettuce Leaves, and in my book, it is way more tasty and satisfying than hamburger buns.

I had so much fun with this recipe, that I played with this recipe twice. The first time was pretty good, but the second time I totally nailed it!

I especially LOVED the homemade mayo that I created! My husband was even raving about it long after dinner.

Whole 30 Round Up: 30 Whole 30 Dinner Ideas

  • 1 lb. Ground Turkey or Chicken
  • 1 tbsp. Coconut Aminos
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Fresh Ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp. Onion Powder
  • Avocado Slices, for garnish
  • Romain Lettuce, for serving
  • Pineapple Mango Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. Coconut Oil
  • 1 Cup Pineapple Chunks
  • 1/2 Cup Mango Chunks
  • 1/2 tsp. Fresh Ginger, minced
  • Whole30 Approved House Mayo
  • 1 Garlic Head, roasted
  • 1 1/4 Cup EVOO, divided
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Basil Leaves
  • 2 tsp. Apple Cider Vinegar


For the burgers:

In a large bowl combine the ground meat, coconut aminos, minced garlic, minced ginger, and onion powder. Mix everything to combine and form the mixture into burgers.

Heat a cast iron skillet or grill to medium heat. Place the burgers into the pan and cook for 5 min. on each side.

Place the burger onto a lettuce leaf with the house mayo, pineapple mango sauce, and avocado.

For the Pineapple Mango Sauce:

Place 1 tbsp. of the coconut oil into a skillet over medium heat. Add in the ginger and stir for 30 seconds. Then add in the pineapple and mango and sauce for 3 min.

For the Whole30 Approved House Mayo:

Preheat the oven to 375 F. Cut the top off the garlic bulb and drizzle with some olive oil. Wrap the head of garlic in foil and roast in the oven for 45 min. Squeeze the garlic out of the casing into the bowl of a food processor.

Place the egg, 1/4 cup of EVOO, and basil into the food processor with the roasted garlic, and mix thoroughly.

While the food processor is running, slowly drizzle in the remaining cup of olive oil.

After all the oil is added and the mixture has emulsified, add the ACV, stirring gently with a spoon to incorporate.
