I remember when I was young, my mom would make Country Fried Pork Chops or Country Fried Chicken a lot. But her version wasn’t the greatest because it was greasy. I am not a fan of greasy food!
Even though my experience with my mother’s version of Country Fried Pork Chops/Country Fried Chicken wasn’t pleasant, I wanted to come up with a somewhat healthier version of Country Fried Pork Chops.
Country Style Pork Chops
4 Boneless Pork Chops
1 Egg, beaten
1 Cup GF Flour
1 tsp. Paprika
1 tsp. Salt & Pepper
Coconut Oil or Olive Oil
For The Gravy
4 tbsp. DF Butter
1/4 cup GF Flour
2 Cups DF Milk
Salt & Pepper, to taste
Beat the eggs in a shallow dish. In a resealable plastic bag mix the flour, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Dip each chop into the egg, letting the excess drip back into the dish. Add the chops to the ziploc bag with the flour mixture and shake to cover the chops.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. When hot add the chops and fry until well browned on each side (about 5 minutes).
Once the chops are done cooking, prepare the gravy using the same pan that the pork chops were cooked in.
Add the butter and let it melt, then whisk in the flour, and slowly whisk in the milk. Continue to whisk until the mixture is thickened. Add the salt and pepper.
Serve the gravy over the Pork Chops.
