We eat a lot of burgers at our house, but sometimes we like to go vegetarian. These Chickpea burgers are delicious and satisfying. They are also filling, so eating just one will satisfy your hunger.
- 2 Cans Chickpeas, drained
- GF Hamburger Buns
- Handful of Chives
- 1 Garlic Clove, smashed
- 1/4 tsp. mustard
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp. Lime Juice
- 1 tsp. GF Soy Sauce
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 tbsp. GF Flour
- Sliced Red Onion
Soak the chickpeas in cold water for 1 hr. or up to overnight.
Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Place half the chickpeas in a food processor and pulse until they have broken down into small pieces. Place in a bowl and set aside.
Add the remaining chickpeas into the food processor with chives, garlic, mustard, baking soda, salt, lime juice, and soy sauce. Process until you form a paste.
Combine the paste with the chickpea chunks. Add the beaten egg and flour and combine.
Start forming the mixture into burgers and lay onto a baking sheet. Refrigerate for up to 30 min.
In a frying pan over medium heat, with a spatula gently place the burgers in the pan and fry for 1 to 2 min. per side.
